In order to renew your insurance license, you must complete the required continuing education hours for the lines of insurance that you are licensed in. All of the hours must be completed and reported prior to your license renewal date to avoid a lapse in your license.
Total Hours
24 hours biennially for Producers and Adjusters (except 20 hours for Limited Lines Automobile Producers)
Compliance Renewal Date
Renewal date is the last day of the license issuance month biennially. When adding a new line of authority, the renewal date is based off of the date of the issuance of the original license. The renewal date for Personal Lines Agents licensed prior to 1/1/2009 is 12/31 biennially. Independent and Public Adjusters renew on 5/31 of even numbered years.
You may also need to take specific courses or earn specific credit types to renew your license. These course completions will count toward the total hour requirement.
Hours must be taken in license type held. If multi-licensed, any course is allowed.
